About Us

EDDTC has been in existance for over 40 years. The club is able to offer qualified trainers and behaviourist referrals.  Our trainers teach dog obedience with fun and motivational methods.  Each trainer is individual and all train in different ways, we all achieve the same outcome.  Class 1  trainers follow a syllabus to ensure the club provides consistent methods throughout each course. Unfortunately, EDDTC is not able to provide 1-2-1 sessions.  If your dog has behavioural issues the Club is able to recommend a Behaviourist professional who works in conjunction with EDDTC.

The club works collaboratively with organisations such as:

Eastleigh Borough Council and Dog Warden

Hampshire County Council

Various Local Veterinary Practices

Hampshire Police

Local Scout Groups

Other local Dog Clubs and Societies

EDDTC is committed to actively campaigning dog obedience and promotion of dog sport. The club has approximately 50 + members who are all committed to training their dogs with fun and motivational methods. The club appreciates that each dog and handler are individuals with different learning abilities and will therefore provide numerous aids and strategies to help handlers and their dogs work to the best of their abilities.

EDDTC is run by volunteers and has a nominated committee from the membership.  The Committee is elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.  Various Committee members participates in teaching classes as well as training their own dogs.

The Committee actively supports and helps to raise money for local and national charities through dog shows and other fund raising events.  EDDTC has been active in the community raising money and holding a Companion Show where all the proceeds made, goes to a nominated charity.

The club has held Open Obedience Shows and was awarded Championship Obedience status in 2003 and held their first Championship show in 2004.
